Melba Silver Music Education Fund
The Boca Raton Symphonia is honored and pleased to
announce the creation of THE MELBA SILVER MUSIC EDUCATION FUND, created to recognize and honor Melba Silver's contribution to the development of classical music in Boca Raton.
When Melba moved to Boca Raton in 1981, she assumed a leadership role with the then newly formed Florida Philharmonic Orchestra. Her talent, fervor and devotion to the orchestra quickly elevated Melba to the position of President of the Boca Raton Board of Trustees, a post she held for over a decade.

Among Melba's many desires and ambitions was to make classical music more accessible to our young people. She was fervent in her efforts to expose school children to the beauty of music and to encourage their active participation in this art form. Melba's passing in 2004 inspired others to carry on in her tradition. To that end, the Boca Symphonia, with the enthusiastic and generous support of Melba's children . . . Erik of Boca Raton, Ann of Carson City, Nevada, Owen of Boulder, Colorado and Adam of New York City . . . is proud to help fulfill one of Melba's dreams through THE MELBA SILVER MUSIC EDUCATION FUND.
This Fund will allow musicians of the Boca Symphonia to provide private and/or group lessons to dedicated and talented students throughout Palm Beach County at minimal or no cost to those who could otherwise not afford them. It offers a unique opportunity to honor Melba Silver and to simultaneously fulfill her dream, by helping the young, disadvantaged, music students of our community.
Please join us in this effort by supporting THE MELBA SILVER MUSIC EDUCATION FUND. Your contribution can be made by check or credit card to the Boca Raton Symphonia. Checks made out to the Boca Raton Symphonia with memo line notation "Melba Silver Music Education Fund" can be sent to: Boca Symphonia, 2285 Potomac Road, Boca Raton, FL 33431.
