Mr. Willis has appeared with many
orchestras throughout the United States, including the Chicago,
St. Louis, Detroit, Houston, San Francisco and Indianapolis
Symphonies. As well as the Civic Orchestra
of Chicago. He served as Resident Conductor of the Seattle Symphony
from 2002-2003. Invited by Yo Yo Ma, he conducted several performances
of his Silk Road Project residency presented by the Seattle
Symphony and worked with him at the
Toledo Symphony Orchestra. In 2002 the
Los Angeles Philharmonic selected Mr. Willis
to work with its Music Director Esa-Pekka Salonen for it’s
premiere season of
conducting workshops.
Internationally Mr. Willis has appeared with
the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, the China
National Symphony, the Orchestre de Bretagne and the Super World
Orchestra Tokyo. He was invited by Music Director Markus Stenz
to conduct a new production
of Cavalli’s “Rappresentazione di anima e di corpo”
at the Cologne State Opera. This season features him at the
podium with the San Francisco and Houston Symphonys, the New
York Philharmonic, and the orchestras
of Winnipeg, Omaha, San Antonio, Virginia, and Kitchener-Waterloo.
