Lydia Artymiw

A recipient of the Andrew Wolf Chamber Music Prize and an Avery Fisher Career Grant, as well as top prizes in the Leeds and Leventritt International Competitions, Lydia Artymiw has appeared with over one hundred orchestras world-wide, including the Boston Symphony, the New York and Los Angeles Philharmonics, the Cleveland and Philadelphia Orchestras, the Cincinnati, Detroit, Minnesota, National, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, Seattle Symphonies, and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra.

Solo recital tours have taken her to all major American cities and to the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and Ukraine, as well as to Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Singapore, and Korea. Festival appearances include Aspen, Bravo! Colorado, Caramoor, Chautauqua, Grand Canyon, Hollywood Bowl, Marlboro, Montreal, Mostly Mozart, Tucson, and Virginia Waterfront.

Ms. Artymiw has collaborated with such artists as Yo-Yo Ma, Richard Stoltzman, Arnold Steinhardt, Benita Valente, the Guarneri, American, Miami, Orion, Shanghai, and Borromeo quartets, and has toured nationally with "Music from Marlboro" groups. Along with Arnold Steinhardt and Jules Eskin, she is a member of the Steinhardt-Artymiw-Eskin Trio. She has recorded for the Chandos, Centaur, and Pantheon labels. Lydia Artymiw graduated from Philadelphia's University of the Arts and studied with Gary Graffman; she is currently Distinguished McKnight Professor of Piano at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
