Alexander Platt is Named Principal Conductor and Music Advisor of the Boca Raton Symphonia
The Boca Raton Symphonia is proud to announce the appointment of Alexander Platt as Principal Conductor and Music Advisor of the Boca Raton Symphonia through the 2008-2009 season. The chamber orchestra was founded in 2004 following the closing of the Florida Philharmonic. The appointment came soon after two highly successful appearances this past March, in which Platt led the Symphonia in two concerts at the first-ever Festival of the Arts BOCA. Alexander Platt will lead the majority of the Symphonia's Connoisseur Series concerts over the next two seasons; take a central role in artistic planning, fund-raising, education and outreach. Alexander Platt has been music director of The Maverick Concerts since 2002; he is also resident conductor of the Chicago Opera Theater, that city’s younger, adventurous opera company (since 2000), music director of the Waukesha Symphony in Wisconsin (since 1997) and the Marion Indiana Philharmonic (since 1996).
